Christina (Chris)'s Story
Life
I was always quite embarrassed having a last name of "Funk". My family (mom, dad, brother and sister)were immigrants from Sweden and our name in Sweden is spelled "Funck" (a name to be proud of since all my relatives were of nobility and fame). Before high school, kids made fun of my name, but when the phrases "Funky and Groovey" became popular, all of those feelings changed.
My life has been full of interesting events (to be shared later). After working up in L.A. as an interior designer for the corporate segment for several years, I moved to O.C. in my late thirty's. That was truly a culture shock after living in Hollywood (I was born in Pasadena and originally lived in Glendale until I was 5).
I got married and had a lovely girl - she is now 18 and in college. Due to a divorce when she was 6, I raised my daughter pretty much on my own. I was not able to get involved with any real hobbies or activities during this time, but I have great memories from the past (camping, hiking, rafting, vintage car racing, painting, reading, some traveling).

volved with design and have started my own side business, specializing in assisting homeowners, sellers and renters in redesigning/reorganizing their existing spaces.....on a budget! I am currently assisting my 90 year old mother with all of her needs to make her life a little easier. She just recently moved from Sun City/Palm Desert, so O.C. is new for her especially being "the little old lady from Holl...y....woooood...go granny go granny go granny go!!! It's amazing how long people live these days. I believe my parents came from a special generation, one whose life started with the horse & buggy. They have experienced everything in the technilogical realm (from having radio, cars, planes, trains, space craft...to the computer generation). They are truly overwhelmed with what has transformed in front of them these past 90 years.
What's really wonderful is that I found two dear friends from high school (one on Classmates.com and one through another method)....both in the past two months. I hope to meet some new people through Classmates as well, so let's get started!!!
